저자가 이 책을 펴낸 이유가 여기에 있다.
○ 계시는 성경의 결론이다.
○ 계시는 하나님의 창조의 목적을 보여준다.
○ 계시는 사탄의 운명을 보여준다.
○ 계시록은 지난 며칠 동안 하나님이 원하신 이기는 자(승리자를 보여준다.
○ 계시록은 어려움과 혼란의 시기에 더 많이 쓰일 것이다. 예수 그리스도는 자기 종들에게 계시록을 주었다. 왜냐하면 그들이 승리자가 되기 위한 준비를 위해 무슨 일이 일어나야 하는지 미리 알려주기 위함이었다.
